Panasonic RX-5050
The RX5050 was introduced in 1983. It must have been a strong seller, because even today, you can find several on Ebay every week. Collectors say it sounds louder and better than expected for a mid-range model. It has 4 speakers, a 4-band graphic equalizer, and an 'Ambience' setting (Panasonic's version of wide stereo). It also has Line In and Line Out jacks. The service manual, which can be purchased HERE, claims that its output power is 2x7 watts "RMS max". It has 16cm diameter woofers (3 ohms), 4cm diameter tweeters, and a Sanyo LA4500 amplifier chip. Its tape deck frequency response is 50 to 14,000 Hz when using Metal tape.
